A few problems for Bally Total Fitness

Accoring to the Better Business Bureau report there have been numerous complaints on their failure to provide refunds and billing problems.

The NY Post had a 2 day expose on their practices. The Post stories feature pitiable complaints from cancer victims, among others, who claim to have been conned by Bally total fitness sales staff and/or harassed by its collection agents. The newspaper also reported that the New York attorney general's office has launched a probe into the Chicago-based company. Bally Total Fitness Corporation, which operates nearly 40 health clubs throughout the state, settled an investigation by the Dept of Law in New York, after hundreds of consumers complained that deceptive ads and high pressure sales tactics tricked them into signing long-term contracts and misrepresented the total price of the memberships.
